Part-time job possibilities for a teenager with a lip-piercing and unusual hair? + question about lip piercing?

Hello, I’m 16. I’m going to have to find a part-time job soon. I have a not so conventional style and was just thinking about it today how hard it’ll be trying to find a job. I live in Nashville, TN. I don’t want to work in a grocery store/fast food place. I would love to work at either Hot Topic PacSun but there is only one location of both of these stores since our large mall, Opry Mills got destroyed in the flood we had in May. At any rate, both of these stores don’t have any open positions. Those were about the only places I felt like I had any chance at finding a job at my age. I do know bar tending and working at a piercing/tattoo shop wouldn’t discourage my piercing and multi-colored hair…but I’m not old enough for either.

So, if anyone has an idea of anywhere that I could work who wouldn’t mind my hair or piercing (I’d be willing to wear a retainer, but many places don’t even accept this), please suggest it.

Second question, I got my lip pierced in March. I’d be looking for a job around October… would it be a possibility to take out the lip piercing for work without it closing up? It’d probably be no more than a 5 hour shift at the most.

Thanks in advance.
(And, this question wasn’t asking for your opinion on my style, in case you can’t read.)
Nashville…conservative…?
Not at all in my opinion. You must not live there…

Is this unusual for a Taoist?

I just met a guy who have a couple tattoos. He have a Buddhism wheel and three jewels tattoo along with yin yang one. He also have two tattoos that was traditional done, one script in Thai language and one of some kind of monkey man.

When I ask if he’s a Buddhist, he says he used to be but he’s a Taoist now and that he still take Buddha’s teaching to heart and take vows of two traditional tattoo very seriously.

Btw he got them well after he became a Taoist.

Is this weird at all?

Is giving your 1 year old a hair cut unusual?

I have a one year old son with very thick and unmanageable hair. Well it was until I decided to have it professionally cut. He wasn’t hurt in the process and infact makes his appearance so much more adorable…he has the cutest face and a perfect head. I was told that it was a comparison to having his ear pierced or getting him a tattoo, I mean who would get a one year old a tattoo and to be frank I know alot of little girls that get their ear pierced long before they are one years old. Not that I was even considering piercing his ear. I know this is a ridiculous statement, I have four boys and each of them had hair cuts around the same age. My son doesn’t have to deal with the discomfort of having his hair combed…that was unbearable for him and me.

tattoo in an unusual place?

I want to get a tattoo on my knee.Ok that’s weird I know, but there is a reason,I have a horrible 2 inch long 1 inch wide scar on the lower right hand side,it never healed properly and remained slighly raised with an obvious pinkish purple colour,I want to cover it.Trouble is I have no idea what sort of thing would look good on a knee,so I was hoping you guys could give me some design suggestions.
