How do your parents react to your body piercings,tattoos,extreme hairstyles, and if you’re a goth/emo/scene?
I’m just curious to know how your parents or guardians, reacted when you came home with an unusual tattoo or piercing or you decided to become a goth/emo/scene. You became bored with your old hairstyle and went to have a really funky mohawk or haircut at your local hairdresser or dyed you hair an unique colour.
i’m not goth emo or scene
i’m me lol(skinny jeans, hats, button up shirts etc), if ianything i’m a preppy(people always say i look like a fuckin j bro) kid with piercings/tattoos
but my mom encourages me that kind of thing(she was a ‘mod’ in high school)
she even tried to get me to buy a pair of those ugly ass creepers
It’s weird when I was younger like 14 my mom would freak out! I came home with my lip pierced and she cried for two hours, I came home with my head shaved, she cried for two hours, but when I turned 18 she had no problems whatsoever with what I did with myself. I got tattoos, dyed my hair blue, gauged my ears and all I hear now is “cool!” maybe she’s going though a midlife crises (idk).
I’m not goth or anything, just more skater style, I used to have my eyebrow pierced, I have my lip pierced and both ears are pierced and one is stretched to 4mm, They absolutely cannot stand my piercings, they always freak out when they see them lol, I think they always get angry coz I’m only 15

They were like wtf is that hole in your ear?!
I said is was fake at 1st
Then when it got too big to be fake I told them it was 6mm but really it’s a 12mm

When i became goth, my grandma (who is a strict christian…..more of an obsessed christian) totally freaked out. Her exact words were “Devil, get AWAY from her!”
When i started my new makeup style (Purple or black eyeliner, green/blue/purple/grey/black eyeshadow, foundation (to cover up my freckles) hot pink or black lipstick, lots of mascara) she once again freaked out and called me a satanic hooker. My dad just narrowed his eyes and my mom is scheduling an appointment to teach me: “How to properly apply makeup” but it’s legally my face, is it not? And when I told them i wanted to pierce either my nose or my lip, they once again freaked out and said “Not until you’re 16″ (Oh well…..two more years….) and when I said I wanted to dye the top layer of my hair bright pink and the second layer blue/black and the very bottom layer pitch black….they freaked out. My parents are boring….they don’t even like my black and red nail polish or my slowly turning black clothing and they automatically hated the music i listen to when they found out it was in the goth genre. So yeah, they reacted horribly.
Lol how do you become goth or emo or scene. Do you just wake up one day and say I think I’ll become goth. haha
