How do I learn to draw tattoos?
I don’t want to be a tattoo artist or apprentice, I just wanna know how tattoo artist design their tattoos. I really like how tattoos are drawn and the whole style of it. Is there any way to learn drawing tattoos without being an apprentice?

I’m not a tattoo artist so I do not know for sure…But really a tattoo can be anything. I think what you are saying is that you want to be able to make drawings that look like tattoos? If that is correct try this, after drawing your design out, use a ink pen and go over your pencil lines with it. Usually when you see tattoos on paper they are in ink…and that really ads some edge to drawings. Also it will help if you find some tattoo designs you really like (Online is a good place. google tattoos) look at those tattoos and try to figure out what makes you so attracted to them…then try putting those aspects into your art. A good artist should always be paying attention to details. I hope this helps.
Absolutely. Draw 20-100 of anything you love to draw. Pick out the 10-15 best ones, outline them in ink, scan them into a computer, make a portfolio, and shop them around to tattoo shops in your area.
Most of the time, final tattoos are nothing more than drawings, that are replicated on special ink paper, when the tattoo artist applies them to the skin, it leaves behind a slight copy so that the tattoo artist can trace the design with his tattoo needle.
Also watch miami ink, a lot.
You can learn to draw tattoo style – which I assume is the “old school” style you are referring to – easily without actually being an apprentice. You just need to look for the Art Books – and check out the designs. They are actually simple. You should look into the tattoo technique to see WHY people used to draw FLASH that way. Because there is a reason: It is easier to tattoo certain designs and gradients – so people draw them specifically to match the tattoo technique so that when they actually do the tattoo – it is easier.
