What happens to microdermal piercings if you get pregnant?

I’m looking into surface hip piercings versus microdermal piercings, but since microdermals are so permanent, I’m not sure if they’re a good idea since I know I want kids eventually. Does anyone have experience or know what would happen?
Microdermal piercings are inside the skin with holes so they will grow into your skin. They WILL be there forever.

Ear Piercing 101

Although body piercing is becoming more popular today the practice has been used for thousands of years by people in many different countries. Ear piercing and other types of piercings can reflect a personal style statement, but they have long been viewed for their cultural significance as well. To many individuals this type of body art has great importance and choosing to have a body piercing is a decision that you should carefully consider before having it done.

Tips for Safe Ear Piercing

Here are some suggestions and tips that will make your ear piercing a safer and healthier event.

* Make sure that the person doing the piercing washes their hands and then wears clean, disposable gloves.

* All of the equipment should be clean and properly sterilized beforehand.

* The surroundings should meet high levels for cleanliness and hygiene.

For sanitary reasons, disposable needles are preferred for ear piercing. Non-disposable needles can be unsafe due to possible bacteria. Be certain that the needles used for your ear piercing come from brand new, unopened packages.

* There should be bright lighting and basic first aid supplies at hand.

What type of Jewelry is Best for New Piercings?

18K gold studs are the best type of jewelry to use for newly pierced ears. For fresh piercings, avoid using gold or silver plated earrings. These metals can create infections and allergic reactions. If you have an allergic reaction to gold, you can use Teflon or nylon ear jewelry until your healing is complete.

Types of Ear Piercings

There are several different ways of piercing one’s ears. In addition to the more traditional lobe piercings the other aspects of an ear can also be used. The following are all names of ear piercing styles: Rook, Industrial, Daith, Tragus and Anti-Tragus, Helix, Conch, and Snug.

Risks Involved with Cartilage Piercing

Some ear piercings involve using the cartilage. While there are a number of interesting looks that can be experimented with it is necessary to exercise additional caution. Cartilage can be destroyed or damaged if these styles of ear piercing are not performed very carefully. It is also wise to be selective when choosing the jewelry that will be worn. Earrings or other ornamentation that is too large or too heavy can create additional problems for the cartilage in a person’s ears.

Ear piercing is perhaps the most common and it is a quick and relatively painless process. Though piercings are done often in society, knowing the concerns, care and risks before the procedure is wise.

Risks

Here are some of the health risks that are associated with having your ears pierced.

* Infections are always a potential threat. There is a chance that you could contract a minor bacterial infection or you could even end up with a serious infection such as HIV or Hepatitis.

* Piercing guns can not be thoroughly sterilized and this type of equipment has a higher rate of transmitting infections.

* Bleeding is another risk for anyone who is going to have ear piercing performed.

* Improper technique and lack of experience can mean a higher risk of a botched piercing, including misalignment or nerve damage.

* Allergic reactions to the metal alloys that are used.

* Formation of keloid scars at the piercing site.

*Never share your earrings or ear studs with another person. Though we like to be able to share jewelry, sharing pierced earrings or other body jewelry can increase your chance of getting an infection from another. Despite the fact that you cleaned your ear jewelry carefully, you may have inadvertently missed some bacteria which can cause issues.

Healing Time

When a person has their ear lobe pierced the healing process is fairly short. The healing time is generally 6-8 weeks for a complete recovery. As fast as 2-3 weeks, most people are mostly healed from this type of ear piercing. For cartilage piercings, the healing process takes much longer. It could take anywhere from 4 months to a year for the cartilage piercing to heal properly.

Preventing Infections after Ear Piercing

The most important factor is to keep the pierced sites clean. There are special cleaning products that can be used on these areas 3-4 times a day. You should not use rubbing alcohol or Hydrogen peroxide to clean fresh ear piercings because these solutions are too drying on the skin. Always wash your hands before touching your ear lobes and keep make-up and hair spray away from the sites until they are healed. The temporary studs need to be turned frequently without being removed from the ears so that the holes heal properly.

Signs of Infections

There are several signs that can alert you to an infection at the site of an ear piercing. These include:

* Pain

* Warmth

* Redness

* Swelling

* Bad Odor

* Drainage

* Itching or a Skin Rash near the Pierced Area

If you notice any of these problems you should always go to a health care professional and ask their advice. Though the possibility of getting an infection is small, it is better to not take a chance. As infections may get worse quickly, get help as soon as possible to avoid spreading.

Benefits of using piercing needles and piercing guns

Piercings are very popular among people of all ages and it is common for one to get at least one body piercing. There are mainly two methods used for the piercing – piercing guns and piercing needles. Which is better for you? Below lists the pros and cons of using piercing needles and piercing guns, Read and study it can be a great help for you.

Pros of using Piercing Needles

Piercing needles are one use only, so you don’t have risk of someone else’s bodily fluids on your needle.
Professionals who are using piercing needles must have a much longer than one month course to study proper piercing techiniques, infection control, and healing practices. They will also learn how the body reacts to new piercings and how to avoid hitting nerves (which will reduce the pain the customer feels when getting a new piercing). They also learn proper sterilization technique.
There is less pain when piercing needles are used. The needle is hollow and extremely sharp so that it slices through the skin, which pushes the tissues aside to make room for the jewelry. Even though it sounds rough, it’s a really quick process.
Piercing needles are made of high grade stainless steel or titanium, which gives the best chance at not developing a reaction or infection during piercing and healing.

Cons of using piercing needles

Can be an inconvenience to go out of your way to find a reputable tattoo shop that offers piercings.
Can be more expensive than going to the mall. Plus you have to add a tip into the price that the piercer is going to charge for the piercing.

Pros of using Piercing Guns

It’s convenient to get your ears pierced while at the mall shopping.
It’s sometimes cheaper to get a piercing at the mall or at a booth versus a qualified piercer.

Cons of using piercing guns

Piercing guns cannot be properly sterilized. They come into contact with bodily fluid and a simple swipe of an alcohol swab in-between uses is not enough to sterilize the instrument. Some claim that the instrument never comes into contact with the skin, but the piercer’s hands do and they’re touching the potentially contaminated gun and are further contaminating it with your blood. When the blunt stud is forced through your skin, there’s no way knowing whether or not particles of blood have been dispersed into the air.
Mall employees and booth workers generally undergo a whopping two week course on how to use a piercing gun. That’s not a lot of time to teach proper techniques about infection control or healing techniques.
There can be major tissue trauma when a piercing is performed with a gun. The piercing guns hold blunt studs, and when these studs are forced through the tissues, it literally rips the tissue in order to make room for the jewelry.
The gun pinches the back of the jewelry into place snug, which doesn’t allow any room for the piercing to breath and heal properly.
Piercing guns are loud, which can scare younger children more than anything. If the child jumps, the stud can easily get stuck half-way through the tissue, which means it must be removed. The gun will have to be relocked and the stud shot back through the tissue, causing more tenderness, bleeding, and risk of complications.
The piercing gun is inaccurate, so if the employee doesn’t have it just right, the stud can go through at an awkward angle or in at a bad placement, which may cause your body to reject the jewelry.

So you can refer to this list to consider which one is better. And whichever methods you choose, the most important thing falls on the quality of the piercing needles and guns. Getbetterlife.com supplies high quality and fair priced piercing needles and body piercing kits.

Piercing For Pleasure

Body piercing has become more popular than ever over the last ten years. There was a time when it would have seemed strange to visit your favorite store and see a teenager with a stud in their tongue or a ring in their eyebrow working at the cash resister. Today it’s common everywhere you go. What you may not realize is that not only do some people have body piercings that can be easily seen; they may also have them in places you might never think of.

Some young people today are getting them because they want to be like others who have them. It’s likely that few, if any, know the reason body piercing started a very long time ago, or what modern day body piercings are all about. For instance, a common piercing for teenagers, even as young as 13 years old, is the tongue piercing. This type of piercing is believed to enhance the experience during oral sex for the person on the receiving end. Does this mean our kids are performing oral sex at 13 or younger? Not likely, they just have no idea why these types of piercings were started, or that they are intended for sexual stimulation. Even more so, do parents know why tongue piercing was started?

Piercing was first believed to exist almost 5000 years ago. Found on a frozen mummified body found in an Austrian Glacier, were signs of piercing in the ears. Many different beliefs are thought to have inspired body piercing. Religion even played a part in ancient history. But today, it seems, sex is the motive behind some body piercing. Sexually provocative as it may be, rumors of the possibility of it enhancing sexual experiences have lead many running to get genital piercings.

Today, any area of the body that could be recognized as an erogenous zone is being pierced. Men, women, and even teenagers have every kind of piercing one could imagine.Women have their clitoris pierced, men having their penises pierced. Does this kind of piercing hurt as much as it would seem? Many say not as much as first thought. How far has this piercing craze evolved? We will highlight some of the different kinds of piercings available in today’s parlors, and focus on types that are said to enhance sexual pleasure.

Women these days are getting holes places some would have no idea could be pierced.Clitoral and clitoral hood (both vertical and horizontal) are some very common ones, inner and outer labia are also common. Some not as common include the “Triangle”; (below the clitoral hood, behind the clitoris) this one depends on how far the clitoris will stretch. “Fourchette” / perineum piercing (through the perineum and through the bottom of the vaginal opening) are even less common. Women are having their nipples pierced at all ages these days. This is said to increase sensation in the nipples and can even bring back sensation lost during child bearing and breast feeding.

Men as well are on board with the craze of genital piercings. Let’s start with one that’s been around for many years and was thought to be a form of chastity at one time. Foreskin piercing, just as it sounds, simply put, placing a ring though the foreskin at the end of the penis. “Ampallang”; this is placed horizontally through the head of the penis and through the urethra. “Apadravya”; almost as the Ampallang except vertical instead of horizontal. This method is basically in one side and out the other using a stud.

“Guiche” (perineum) piercing; also generally using a stud or ring that is placed under the scrotum near the anus. Of coarse the scrotum itself is a common place to pierce and has almost no limit to the possibilities. “Dydoe” is piercing a hole through the side of the head of the penis. Some more popular piercings include the “Prince Albert” where a hole is pierced through the urethra and out the bottom of the penis head. What is sometimes referred to as “Frenum” and ladder, is a very common one as well. With this type, a hole is pierced through the under side of the shaft from side to side. A piercing closer to the scrotum is referred to as “Lorum”. How many of these are placed only depends on the length of the shaft and the amount of skin. Multiples of this type of piercing is known as a ladder.

Are these safe and done with little pain? Most have low risks involved with the chance of infection being the biggest and most who have them say the pain was minimal. Healing times for most are long and can take up to four weeks. You might wonder if these can be left in during sex.  Most of these would not be very well suited for intercourse and would most certainly not be very condom friendly. If you’re considering genital piercing, trying some type of clamp on jewelry may be a place to start. There is no pain associated with these, no healing time, and no chance of infection. Unfortunately, there aren’t many types of clamp on jewelry available for men. So if you’re thinking about a penis piercing, you should do your research first, and make sure this is what you really want.

Try experimenting with a realistic penis first, by placing the type of piercing you are thinking of through it. Then, give it a try with your partner and see if it’s enjoyable for them during penetration. Apply a condom to the toy while the jewelry is in place and see how it holds up while in use.  You may also want to try holding a clean, new stud at the opening to the head of your penis while you urinate so you can see how your new piercing will affect your ability to urinate standing up. Many men report not having very good results in this area and to save the mess just sit down. So remember, before you jump into something as drastic as putting holes in your genitals, make sure you understand how it will affect you sexual performance and every day activities.
