Can police officers have tattoos and still get hired?
I am planning on getting tattoos after i get out of the Marine Corps. However I want to get tattoos that will cover my entire upper torso from my waist to my neck but stop to where it cant be seen with a shirt on I will also stop at my wrist where it cant be seen if im wearing a long sleeve shirt. Would this be acceptable?

Ummm yes All the assholes that harass me have tattoos
It may not stop you from being hired, but most certianly it won’t help.I know a young man who worked for Starbucks and was asked to cover up, he also got passed over, wonder why
Employers are allowed to set standards for grooming.just like the marines do. If you truly want a job in law enforcement, keep the tattoos in check.
Thanks for serving your country in the military.
A good many officers have tattoos, but damn few have anything like you want to get. Most agencies do not want to hire someone that looks like a circus freak. While your torso tattoo might be hidden, the summer uniform is usually short sleeve shirts.
I don’t feel that tattoos should be an issue regarding the hiring of law enforcement officers. As long as the tattoo is not some vulgar or obscene depiction. Tattoos are in no way relevant to the type of officer that a person will be. Ironically, as we live in such a PC society where we can’t discriminate against any manner of lifestyle, even those that conflict with our religious views, for fear of disciplinary action. Now we are going to discriminate against those with a tattoo? It has nothing to do with professionalism.
